Our Classes
At Maria Spanish School, we’re passionate about guiding every student on their Spanish learning journey. We know that every child learns differently, which is why we offer flexible class options to suit a variety of ages, levels, and learning styles.
We currently offer group lessons and private lessons at our two community locations. Private lessons can be held face-to-face or online, depending on the student’s age, goals, and Spanish level.
Our group lessons are designed to inspire confidence and connection through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities. Programs range from our Preschool Spanish Program for young beginners to our IB and VCE preparation groups for advanced learners.
No matter where your child begins, our goal is to help them build strong language skills and a lifelong love for Spanish language and culture.

Spanish for Intermediate.
(Saturdays 11:30am – 12:30pm)
This 8-session course is specially designed for children aged 6 to 8. They will learn the Spanish alphabet, letter sounds, pronunciation, basic grammar, spelling, reading, and writing skills. Minimum students: 5 per class.
Price: $440 (GST incl.)
Spanish for Advanced
(Saturdays 12:30pm – 2:00 pm)
For students aged 9–12, this 8-session course covers greetings, the alphabet, vocabulary, structures, and grammar through reading stories and comics, watching videos, playing games, and exploring cultural insights. Minimum students: 5 per class

Spanish for Junior
(Saturdays 2:00pm – 3:30pm)
For secondary students from year 7 to 10 and advanced Spanish speakers of various ages, this 8-session course covers greetings, the alphabet, vocabulary, structures, and grammar through reading stories and comics, watching videos, playing games, and exploring cultural insights. Minimum students: 5 per class

Spanish Pro-Advanced
(Fridays 5:00pm – 7:00pm)
For students aged 13 to 17, we offer comprehensive and challenging VCE and IB Spanish programs. These courses cater to students with prior knowledge of Spanish, focusing on enhancing their proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. By exploring topics such as language and culture, identity, and social issues, students deepen their understanding of the Spanish language and its cultural contexts. Minimum students: 5 per class. 8- session course.
Price: $880 (GST incl.)

Preschool Spanish Program (ages 2-5)
(Wednesdays 1:00pm – 2:30pm)
The ¡Hola Chicos! Preschool Spanish Program introduces children aged 2–5 to the Spanish language through songs, play, movement, and storytelling. The focus is on creating joyful, sensory-rich experiences that naturally build familiarity with Spanish sounds, vocabulary, and culture. This is an 8-session with a minimum of 5 students per class.
Price: $398 (GST incl.)
Private Lessons
We offer private Spanish classes for both beginners and intermediate learners. Lessons focus on developing practical communication skills —including greetings, every day vocabulary, personal information, grammar, reading and listening skills — to help students gain confidence in real-life situations.
We have an online and face to face modality. Face to face lessons are delivered in person at the Ashburton Community Centre or Ashburton Library (depending on room availability), located at 160 High St, Ashburton VIC 3147.

Our Packages
We offer face to face individual lesson packages of 5 or 10 sessions, held at weekly intervals. Each lesson is $132 (GST incl.), with the following package costs:

- 5 lessons: $660
- 10 lessons: $1,320
We offer online individual lesson packages of 5 or 10 sessions, held at weekly intervals. For Beginners program (children) each lesson is $110 (GST incl.) and have a duration of one hour, with the following package costs:

- 10 lessons: $1,100
For Beginners program (small children) each individual online lesson is $60 (GST incl.) and have a duration of half an hour, with the following package costs:

- 5 lessons: $300
- 10 lessons: $600
An initial assessment interview is required, this has a cost of $150 (GST incl.). This allows us to determine your Spanish level and create an individualised program tailored to your skills and goals.
We also offer small group lessons for multiple students, perfect for siblings or friends who would like to learn together. These sessions are available both in person and online.

VCE and IB Diploma Program
Intensive
